The Stolpersteine programme returns the names and biographies of Holocaust victims and victims of persecution to the places where they lived, worked or were last freely present. In Croatia, the programme connects local histories with the wider European practice of remembrance initiated by artist Gunter Demnig.
Through memorial installations, research, public ceremonies and educational work, the programme makes remembrance visible in everyday urban space and opens a responsible conversation about history, citizenship and human dignity.
